they are 100% homo sapiens with no neanderthal admixture. Just dropping this knowledge

What constitutes 100% Homo sapiens is arbitrary. Most species within the Homo genies originated from Africa. Are the Homo sapiens in sub-Sahara Africa considered purebred before or after their interbreeding with the remaining Homo erectus or Homo heidelbergensis. There are constant interbreeding events before and after Homo sapiens appear. Even with race, while the genetic differences are less major, we see living representatives of each surviving race which gives us more insight in what makes them unique, whereas the first human fossil is only a Homo sapien and not a Homo naldei (or whichever species is our direct ancestors this year) because a paleontologist made the judgement call that it looked human enough to be the cutoff. Not too long ago, biologists wanted to claim Europeans and sub-Sahara Africans were their own species, and in that case the cut off that separate the European including species would be after the Homo neanderthalensis interbreeding events. It's one thing to say, "I'm 100% Irish" since we have a pretty good idea of their genetic history, but to claim to be 100% Homo sapiens is odd.

How do we constitute what is a species and what is a variant or subspecies of another species? I mean, it's harder for fossil specimens, since we mainly only have morphology to go off of, not much genetic information. And molecular analysis-based taxonomy has consistently shown us that morphology can be way off the mark (see modern Scleractinian taxonomy). A species is a clade of animals that can have fertile offspring with each other right? Well, why are Neanderthals and Denisovans considered separate species from Homo sapiens even though they WERE able to have fertile offspring with us, shown by admixture in modern human populations? Or how do we know we couldn't reproduce with H. erectus? Morphological differences could just be chalked up to intraspecific/phenotypic variation.

Oh my fauci, this truly proves that they wuz kangz n shiet
