this thread has turned to shit, holy fuck
With all due honesty. I feel like this sometimes.
Acro's life story.
trollge =/= rage comic doetrollge IARC though so just let it be

Also trollge started because of a troll science comic which is a subvariant of rage comics, however even then, trollge comics are so separated from rage comics that the only thing connecting them are the faces, the humor is completely different, the comic structure is different, everything about it is different with the exception of that one thing.trollge =/= rage comic doe
(((They))) say this a lot but that's frankly bullshit, even back in the day woah jacks had little to no correlation or relation to rage comics, some people would use them in the comics but often randomly because they didn't actually know in what way to use them, because rage faces are exaggerations of emotions or actions, what would this mean in the context of woah jacks, the amount of woah jacks used in rage comics is much smaller in comparison to the amount of rage comics without woah jacks.even doe woah jacks are just the evolution of rage comics

true you have a good point(((They))) say this a lot but that's frankly bullshit, even back in the day woah jacks had little to no correlation or relation to rage comics, some people would use them in the comics but often randomly because they didn't actually know in what way to use them, because rage faces are exaggerations of emotions or actions, what would this mean in the context of woah jacks, the amount of woah jacks used in rage comics is much smaller in comparison to the amount of rage comics without woah jacks.
Woah jacks essentially evolved separately from rage comics, although they would occasionally intertwine, albeit rarely.
Woah jacks nowadays are also used to self insert and create OCs, they have absolutely 0% relation to rage comics and barely have any relation to the original woah jack meme. Plapjak isn't a rage comic, Wifejak/Daughterjak isn't a rage comic, doomer woah jack isn't a rage comic character, NPC woah jack comics aren't rage comics, dick flattening comics aren't rage comics, picrel isn't a rage comic.
Rage comics, you self insert as the pre-existing characters, as the characters represent a certain action or emotion. Woah jacks, you twist the characters into templates to generate OCs/new self inserts.

To tell you the truth, I've hardwired my brain into being especially spergy about rage comics, what each face means and is supposed to be used for, in what context, etc.true you have a good point
blvd is a rage comic fanaticTo tell you the truth, I've hardwired my brain into being especially spergy about rage comics, what each face means and is supposed to be used for, in what context, etc.
The only thing in my mind that is worse than stating Trollge is a rage comic, is stating that woah jacks are rage comics/are the new rage comics.
This but unironically. I made a thread a long time ago on a board that wasn't /soy/ or /qa/ about how the Sharty should revive rage comics, about how we should take back the format before the normies repurpose them like they did with Trollge. I know some of the edits from that thread (there were actually two come to think of it) got uploaded to the 'booru.blvd is a rage comic fanatic![]()
I don't think there was any irony with rage comics and that whole thing, not unless it were an isolated incident like how Plebbit went to war with Funnyjunk and Reddit began making nonsensical shitpost rage comics so that Funnyjunk would follow Plebbit in it's footsteps, it seemed like it was only towards the end of the format's existence is when people started taking the piss out of it and thought of the meme as a nuisance on the internet because the formats had been bled dry, almost everything made and done during it's peak was sincere, if anything the types of ironic memes that existed when rage comics did would've been shit like Shrek or MLG.i guess off topic but would you say that soyjak culture is sorta like rage comic culture? its a similar level of irony with a wide range of appeal.
albeit rage comics are self-insert stuff while soyjaks are adhominem stuff
holy gemerald! take my heccin GEM react those 'comics are actually keaunu chungus awesomesauce [everyone liked that]This but unironically. And no yeah, that's the interesting difference between rage comics and 'jakking culture, with rage comics you self insert sincerely because you're telling a story and the story is from your POV, when you quote somebody on the 'arty or elsewhere you're self inserting ironically because 'jaks are inherently an archetype, a character with pre-existing notions based off of the leftist millennial cuck, everything "you do" and "say" is an emulation of what those guys do and say.
Yeah, I guess so, it depends on the individual and their intentions, I remember one man who was a WWII veteran who essentially blogposted about his entire life up until that point through the means of rage comics. I shit you not. I don't have the picture on me currently but I don't think it was a larp, otherwise it would follow the setup; delivery, and then punchline formula, it also sort of depends because of how versatile rage comics could be in their own right like with that WWII veteran or somebody creating a rage comic music video in comic form (the Bohemian Rhapsody rage comic). Some people actually made rage comics based of true events in their own personal life, some people bullshitted and made it all up, some people would emphasize the joke forumla, and others would rather blogpost.>I don't think there was any irony with rage comics and that whole thing
perhaps im wrong, but usually rage comics follow a standard structure of a joke (setup, delivery, punchline). A soyjak equivalent would be the "say the line" 'jaks that were popular around '22-'23. It incorporates irony within the joke if that makes sense
I think the exact same way about this. If rage comics came out post 2015 then the jokes and the formatting would've been way different. Rage comics are representative of their era on the internet, Trollge represents what the internet was post-2019, and as does 'jaks and 'jakking culture but in a different way, not in the same way as Trollge.I think the main thing to take out of it is that it reflects our modern culture compared to how we were in the past.blah blah blah muh old internet or something![]()
i like what you said about soyjaks being a more free medium of expression. you could sorta say that soyjaks are like dolls you can play with. thats the fun of them and the reason why its not a "dead meme".>Your reply
