one day im gonna make my own blox-like game and have it not be played by anyone at all
but still do it because i just miss the old charm and feel of what roblox used to feel like to play.
used to be a time where you could just play garry's mod and do whatever build whatever

i just miss the old identities games used to have, like minecraft and roblox. Roblox was very simplistic, the games weren't over the top, things had limitations and you had to work around those limitations. Working around them gave you very technically impressive and creative projects, but now, Roblox is just flat out a game engine with no limitations or quirks at all. The platform had an actual identity, cosmetics had quality control, etc. If you think UGC is actually good, imagine what club penguin would look like if they added UGC and turned their game into a fucking 2D game engine, it'd be horrific, you'd see people not as penguins anymore, but abominations.

Roblox has become IMVU in that regard, look at these avatar comparisons:

The game had soul, it had charm, it was actually roblox, nowadays its hard to find female avatars that don't all look the same and all have blocky legs or wear korblox etc.
Roblox's playerbase is mostly kids though, always has been, which is a shame, I wish Roblox was more like for all ages. Don't even get me started on RThro btw I still hate it.

Minecraft fell off in the same regard, blocks had soul, uniqueness to it, things had imperfections, now everything just looks smooth and washed out as fuck and Mojang don't have any good design principles for what they want to do to the game, they end up adding weird shit, like the Warden, which would have been fine if not for the fact that he exists in the overworld and not in his own dimension, which he should be in. Not to mention, Minecraft just has no progression system like at all. Unlike Terraria, which is actually a fun game.

when it comes to roblox, I don't want to play a game engine, I want to experience a community, an entire world of consistency, I want to dream of getting builder's club and drink bloxy cola and see guests walking around acting clueless and build cool things with the stamp tool, fight people in cool brickbattle games, play dodgy Nintendo Minigames and skateboarding games. I don't want to play a fully developed first person shooter with hyperrealistic graphics. I liked that blocky dodgy charm and appeal of roblox, those noises you make when you jump and walk and the consistency amongst everyone, but now we have UGC which just ruins that, women characters look like whores, rthro is a thing, people are using custom packages and the game has a hilariously bad sex problem.

The thing about old roblox is the sex problem wasn't a problem, it was just naked lego characters, which isn't an issue at all, but now? Now with custom packages, it's... it's a lot worse, people anthropomorphise the lego brick characters and... yeah, it's bad. I don't even wanna play Roblox anymore because of all the predator shit going on. Ruben Sim is the only good Roblox YouTuber imo.

UGC is so awful, a third of it is blatant meme garbage, a third of it is e-boy/girl shit where it's 50000 different hair pieces that you cannot tell apart, and another third of it is furry and pride shit. There's an insane amount of 13-17 year old orbiters on there too, trying their hardest to whiteknight for some random chick.
