Because they're scared of mean words like faggot, dyke & butch, retard, aids, [insert more mean words here], and also the fact that it likely would've been much more uncensored and unregulated because the idea of a singular site that everybody knew about it or was on was a revolutionary concept in 2004, so most sites were ran independently by one person or a small group of people.

Give all of these people a computer from that time, reduce the connection speed to that time, they will not be nostalgic about it after attempts to use it

It's a faux idea filtered through rose tinted glasses of how things really were perpetrated by a nostalgia they know nothing about, them being nostalgic over this would really be the same if they were nostalgic for the 1980s or the 1960s
