I stumbled upon a thread on /pol/ with a screenshot of which a fucking rando snca prostitute got diagnosed and there are over 100+ comments on the subplebbit? why is this happening? are they passing out more false positives in order for big pharma gain more money from normies buying pills for their (((condition)))? or is there something in the water that we're not being told about that is causing higher rates of mental retardation?

It's a combo of diagnosis criteria changing + environmental factors leading to more autism/adhd being developed while in the womb. Stuff like older parents being more likely to give birth to autismos is somewhat well known but there's also stuff like tylenol being linked to autism too.

For the diagnostic criteria changing, it used to be that only obviously impaired (low functioning) or emotionless socially awkward masterminds got diagnosed (aspergers). Now people are more aware that autism can be less rigid in symptoms and sometimes can be masked or hidden.

There's also tiktok and other social contagion making people think they're autistic when they aren't, and sometimes going doctor shopping to get a diagnosis but the commonality of that depends where you're from.
