I read that they've (thankfully) cracked down on pedos pretty hard since the 90s or thereabouts. Though from what I understand , the rule of law there is quite weak by western standards so who knows. And yeah the fried chicken thing is true. Jollibee is a big fried chicken chain from there that has since expanded into the US.

I don’t know much about the Philippines other than a few stories my dad told me about him growing up there (I’m Filipino American), a few dishes I eat, and a bit of their culture.
