i had an epiphany...

japan had samurai which are knights.
both are serving to their lords only.
and since ksatria caste are perhaps similar to them ( that is nobles and famed warriors)
wouldn't that make warriors of the past celebrities?
 
Sort of? Some knights definitely got into these positions through fame and ability on the battlefield. But you have to remember that these were hereditary positions, so there were many who were just not famous.
 
Yeah in Europe many knights had renown and they also had tournaments to prove their worth (without killing the opponent ofc). Wouldn't surprise me if everywhere else it was that way too with elite military.
