there are, he's probably too embarrassed to do it, I remember getting supplies from red cross and U.N in the first months of the war, there are food banks in every city so he shouldn't really have problems with getting food

I'm fine, I get my calories just through frugal means
What I do is fry onion with random vegetables like carrots, beets, and potatoes and then combine with doctor sausage. After that I cover with flour and add water and stir it into a paste. Add lots of pepper so I can't taste anything, couple spoons of sour cream, and it's calorie dense AF
milk is too expensive and not efficient, I'd easily drink a gallon and still be hungry and same with eggs I ate 10 yesterday and it was not enough. I prefer cooked meals mixed with lots of stuff because that fills me up better.

I can try but they know my family already does, I don't think they'd give me separate. My parents just want me to cook for myself and be more "independent" ev&oe that's cia propaganda

Also, try finding a butcher for cheaper meat. Maybe get into canning and stock some food up during times you are a little better off.

I get random stuff from my grandparents already like meat and honey, but it's cold now and they don't have much for me except eggs and some milk
