Serious I wanna learn Chinese.

Ever since I watched a short video on how to read the chinese hieroglyphics, I've been playing TF2 and been able to read what peoples names are. This fascinates me and I love being able to read other language scripts, so, I wanna learn Chinese. I think the future is Chinese, all Zhongguo are based and there seem to be a lot of them everywhere I go. So, I wanna learn Chinese, but I don't wanna use duolingo because Duolingo is for fucking babies and the voices and characters are fucking terrible. Should I use anki or something? Get fluent in reading the hieroglyps first and read some sentences alongside? What grammar system does Chinese use, SOV or SVO?

Is there a good place to start with this or should I just suck up my pride and use the fucking baby applications or attempt to suffer with Anki o algo.

You prob wanna start with learning pinyin (phonetic spelling) first and watch some Chinese media with both English and Chinese subtitles (ideally if there's pinyin that would be better). Duolingo seems like a decent option as well
