Once again, a mystery to us, but that can still be interpreted through the word of God, in scripture (scripture contains what is necessary for our faith, so wonders like this, which are "to-the-side" in our heads because of how particular they are, aren't always utterly answered, but we can still interpret things and find a satisfying conclusion, usually). If you'd want a more "scientific" conclusion, one answer could be that humans slowly developed further corruptions (from the fall of man, which corrupted the entire universe with the first sin, therefore including our genetics) overtime, so defects eventually developed at a higher rate that made us more susceptible to disease and ailments. In addition, if we look to scripture, in Genesis, we can see that, following Noah and the flood, God soon sets a limit to human age, with the words:oh yeah noah was like 600 years old btw
so how the hell did life expectancy shorten so greatly?
>My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years. - Genesis 6:3
Reasoning for this could be that He did not seek man to sin for even further time in a life, for, if just a century or less could produce so much sin for man to bear, another century, or even further ones, would only produce even further sins out of the growing population of souls on the planet. God's spirit is what gives us life, which is why He also says that it won't abide in us forever (i.e we won't be forever in this mortal plane in our mortal bodies). We see quite clearly that this change happens just after the flood, so, God, now in the time where Noah's sons shall spread throughout the planet, does this most likely from how I've explained it here; a limit on life is a limit to one's capacity of evil, so people would not multiply their evils as their centuries of life continued, if that makes much sense.
