this is a passion project, not meant to appease anyone really, and if anything it's a show of my capabilities as an artist and as a developer.
i know there are risks regarding putting this up on my future potential website and also having connections to family, showing games i made to my parents and having them eventually connect the dots and figure shit out but honestly, i cant keep running forever and i can't keep hiding forever either. people are gonna know and i can't hide from my past or the shit i've said so if anyone has a problem with me or my beliefs then they're gonna have to deal with it

i do know that i am british however but im not afraid of no police im not even gonna lie.
i cant exactly be living on the internet making like 100 different personas for all of my projects, maybe i could, but at the end of the day, i really don't care. worst that could happen is some twitter nigger finds my schlog account and schlog posts and tries to cancel my game or something, meanwhile i just don't care tbh, like i genuinely don't.

worst case scenario is that people find my acc, they get mad at me for no good reason and then i'm just not allowed to make it as a game dev in the world at all, which i dont care, i'll just go play vidya and be a neet i guess. worst worst case scenario, i get sent to prison for saying nigger on the internet, still don't care. i'd honestly rather ride than die at this point, theres no fucking point in hiding yourself for so long and hiding what you truly believe in or being afraid of getting convicted of thought crimes or being lynched by an internet mob for shit nobody cares about

i've seen this happen before with other people and i'd rather keep doing what i like doing the most without fear of muh opinions old or new getting in the way of shit, i think it's ridiculous that people think they have the grounds to get mad at you or cancel you because of things you believe or whatever, but honestly i just don't care.

getting hated by a large crowd of people might actually be the best thing to ever happen to me rather than just complete fucking nothingness. i'd rather have something happen than nothing tbf.
but overall im optimistic that people won't care that much. this is a passion project for me. i dont care what people think really.

wip radar system, its cheap and easy to do in godot, just make a new cam, set it to overdraw mode, give it a new viewport, make it orthogonal and then it just renders everything in overdraw and you can put it in the UI but some considerations need to be made like how to make dots for enemies and stuff

i tried to give her like a delta arm band, or something. the actual horns i do quite like, she's extremely taller than i imagined. maybe that's a good thing, i guess.
tried giving her paler bluer skin. engel is there cus i used him as a height reference btw. let me know if you think it's a bit too much or you'd like diff clothes or something.

was thinking of giving her an eyepatch due to the fact they don't have 2 eyes, only 1, but i decided to make their eyes gored i guess instead.

you can if you want, but idk if i'll use it. just make sure when you design male chars, you make them actually male.

im trying to make miss circle look scary and not cute, engel is fine because hes kind of like this weak effeminate young man which is fine because im not trying to make him super strong or anything like that.

i think some things need to be established however, she needs to be tall, but also look like an adult woman in her 30s, she needs to look menacing and she needs to look like something a child would draw as like an extremely scary figure that haunts them or something.

Just so Soygoy can know, here are my inital sketches, i want short and spiky hair that mimics the shape of the original whilst also looking more boy-ish.

tried to get to sleep but couldnt stop thinking about my redesign
i dont like it, but i do like it. i'm going to keep it but only use it for a new character, who for now i'll call "Maim Crucifix" (obviously a play on Miss Circle)

this version of the character will serve as a nightmare rendition whereas i should stick to making miss circle normally, however without such big alterations or changes
i have plans for this character to be a chara-like meta character to haunt you during multiple playthroughs of the game and remind you that you cannot escape.
albeit its a little too edgy in my opinion but i can just imagine a black and white demented figure staring at you with complete silence telling you that you can't truly escape, like a sleep paralysis demon. i feel like that would reflect greatly on the world i am trying to create. that no matter what engel does, he's stuck in a loop.

this could even lead onto a character called Punished Engel who remembers all of his deaths
the reason why engel has nightmares is because the nightmares make him remember the truth, but only for a short amount of time. he forgets when he wakes up.
feels very DHMISish

now about miss circle:​

i should focus more on making miss circle creepy not by changing her clothing or horns style but by changing her facial expressions and how she wears her clothing, for example, she could be covered in blood 99% of the time due to a lack of care, her clothes could even be partially or slightly ripped, her hair could be in a state of constant disarray.
miss circle doesn't need a huge redesign, just some tweaks to make her look more creepy, paler skin, maybe she doesn't need to show her eyes at all.
it's small changes that could go a long way, but we'll see about that tomorrow.

just some ideas i wanted to share but kind of held back on doing

for certain other characters like unnamed male teachers or guards i'll probalby just make like 1 2d rig for them and make clones of them and call it a day geg

a more natural and true to form miss circle design
cold and calculated, you can't get a glimpse of her eyes, she's covered in blood at all times and her clothes are ripped and dirty
her arm cut off, replaced with the drawing compass, permanently.
so next i have to redraw it and separate it into seperate pieces for animation and then make a side sprite, and then the game will have a villain character
but i should probably make a placeholder guard before i make the main big bad demon villain.

kind of doing this because i need a good placeholder for slingshot ngl, like you cant just have a weapon if theres nothing to hit if you know what i mean
