I haven't researched laptops in a long time so my info will probably be outdated. What would never be outdated is this: Never get a gaming laptop. Never get "gaming" anything. "Gaming" related shit is usually of poorer quality and costs more than they are actually worth.
If you want Windows (or Linux if you're valid), get something like Dell XPS. I checked "best laptops for work" and that isn't there anymore, so get one of those, like a Lenovo whatever the fuck thingie. Get only what you need. If you don't need to play soy video games or something then you don't need a laptop with a strong GPU. If you need to use CADs or Blender then you probably do. or something
If you want macOS, you get a MacBook.
