I'm not going to run a discord server for teenagers, not happening. Not to mention it would go up and immediately go down after some monkey decides to report the server every time someone says the n word or posts a non-PC joke. Also I can restrict unwelcome people from joining the blog much easier than a public discord and hold people to account in a much more clear way with Xenforo.

Its not easier than this, its more difficult. Imagine we have a 700 person discord server for the sake of argument, and its public (I can't restrict new accounts that come from undesirables). Now I have to make 30 more people jannies and rulecuck the shit out of the server to make sure it doesn't go down. And I have to be online to mediate janny drama at all hours of the day. Then I have to go add bots to the server to autodelete chat and moderate basic things to make sure the server stays up. All of this just to have the thing go down anyway (look at every cordmonkey server that has brought itself to the various sites and count how many times they got taken down).
