i actually did try this unironically - though it was like a year ago. but when i was doing it, my ass did NOT know any music theory at all, i think i rawdogged through maybe a minute a most before i had no idea how to continue the song and got annoyed with myself that it sounded bad. i think i still have it saved but i'd have to dig it up

Tbf all those novelty "muh loud angry noises" genres like drift phonk and (((Trap Metal))) don't require much music theory, if you can put together a basic melody and tune an 808 you're already in the 99th percentile o algo

annoyed with myself that it sounded bad.

Drift phonk listeners enjoy bad-sounding music thoughever, otherwise they would listen to a real genre like crunkcore

i think i still have it saved but i'd have to dig it up

heres what i had when i found it. apparently i ignored this project for so long that when i ended up moving my sample folder (gotta juice up those stats for soulseek somehow) it ended up breaking all the samples and i had to manually go in and replace them... and im not even sure i replaced them correctly 100% now. this is all i had, i didn't edit it further otherwise

also found this rare gem in the same folder, i think what i was trying to do was make an extra edgy album art in the style of those aggressive shadow demon phonk tranime covers... im still not sure if i won or lost in that

its LMMS. completely free and open sourcerald, just that its perpetually stuck in 2012 in features (no native vst3 support? yikes). wish it had more work done on it because there are basic features that have been in development hell for a decade now, if any codetroons on the schloggy are interested go ahead

getting feedback on the sharty/mtv/ front, i've been told "piano and drums seem out of sync(??). melody is very very weird :)" well bros how do i fix this from happening in the future? i didnt notice it sounding terrible when i listened, and thought i was SUPPOSED to make things syncopated because its supposed to make it less boring or whatever.
will try to make new bangers in the future idunno. not sure what i want to do yet other than i want to sample the classic "trans rights are human ri-ACK" video at some point
