Keyed The Vacation spots (Hideouts/Safehavens) Of Nazis after Ww2, An interesting story

Now, After the fall of the Reich, A lot of Nazis wanted to escape persecution and prosecution from the Allied forces who had taken over their former country. — ITT: I will tell you which fascinating and great places they went exactly to.

1. Spain

After the Second World War, A lot of Nazis, along with a lot of other European Fascists had fled to Spain where they were under protection of the Franco regime. — Who, Were, Sympathetic too and had gave refuge to many Top Nazi officials, Warcriminals, And collaborators. The most infamous of some being Otto Skorzeny, Otto Ernst Remer, and León Degrelle. Spain had declined Allied requests to repatriate or extradite wanted officials. [1] It is rumored that the number of escaped Nazis in Spain was between anywhere of A little over a thousand to 25,000. — A woman in the Falange by the name of: ‘Clara Stauffer’ had helped assist around 800 Nazi officials escape to Spain and elsewhere to places such as Argentina, Chile, and many other South-American destinations. This operation was personally backed by the Caudillo and His regime, Who wanted to offer and lend a helping-hand to his former friends. [1][2] Spain was also known to be a place where many Nazi ratlines, Organizations, And even the Vatican had helped to shelter Nazis fleeing persecution. [3][4][5][6]

2. Portugal

Portugal, Like Spain, was known for its warm embrace and sheltering of Nazi-escapees after Ww2. — It is rumored that around 800-1000 Nazis and Fascists lived in Portugal. [1] Salazar had also granted asylum to Nazi Officials, Ambassadors, Diplomats, Officials, Intelligence, and Spies and had allowed them to live in Lisbon, Even giving them homes. [2] Among these officials were Walter Schellenburg. [3] And Ferenč Szlazi.

3. Argentina

Argentina, Under Juan Perón, Was one of the world’s most notorious and Well-known Nazi hideouts. A practical Open-secret; A joke amongst most people, even. — Perónist Argentina was one of the most popular destination of the Nazi ratlines from Spain, Portugal, And the The Vatican going into Latin America. [1][2] Among these officials were Adolf Eichmann, Erich Preikbe, And many others. There were supposedly anywhere from a couple thousand to over ten thousand Nazis in Argentina. [3]

4. Brazil

Brazil was one among of the most popular Nazi-destinations in Latin America; Right after Argentina. With a several hundred Nazis in their country. — It’s smaller compared to most. Though, Josef Mengele lived in Brazil for the rest of his life as an abortion provider. [1]

5. Chile

Chile was one of the least-known, But still noticeable Nazi-safehavens. It is said that there were between 500-1000 Nazis in Argentina. [1]
Some notable officials in Chile were Walter Rauff [2] And Paul Schäffer [3]. — Paul Schäffer and several of his colleagues had actually later found work for the Pinochet regime in torturing Communists and dissidents of the regime. [4][5]

Now that we are done with the Hispanic world, Let’s dig deeper into other more Interesting places Nazis had escaped to, And lived in after Ww2.

1. Egypt

This is a lesser-known Nazi-safehaven. But Egypt, Under Gamal Abdel Nasser, Had contacted several Nazi-networks in Spain, South-America, And West-Germany. Such as Die Spinne in Spain, aswell as ODESSA. [1][2][.3] His aims were to get the Germans As Military and Political aswell as strategic advisors. And to train Egyptian and Palestinian military and guerilla forces, Get intelligence for Egypt, Equip Egypt with arms, Make propaganda, And get a Missiles program. — Along with many other goals. There we’re supposedly a couple hundred Nazis in Egypt to 10,000. Most coming from Spain and South America who found employment for the Nasser Regime, But some had escaped to Spain via Muslim-brotherhood assistance shortly after Ww2. Such as the case for Johan van Leers, Who later converted to Islam and changed his name to ‘Omar Amin’ and who had wrote antisemitic propaganda for Nasser and giving Nasser his idea for the Nasserist Youth. [3] Nasser had particularly used the Nazi Scientists for getting his missiles programs, Which he had bragged about on Egyptian radio Sawt Al-Arab (The voice of the Arabs). He had also done the to strike fear into the hearts of the Israelis listening in to hear that there were Nazis in Egypt working for Nasser hell-bent on destroying them. [4] Ben Gurion was so terrified panting and staying awake every night for around a week that he even resorted to hiring one of the Egyptian Nazis, Otto Skorzeny as a double-agent for Espionage. [5] Some of the most notable Nazis who lived in Egypt were Otto Skorzeny, (for a time) Otto Ernst Remer, (under the protection of Nasser, also for a time). [6] Omar Amin (formerly Johan Van leers, and had died in Egypt). [7] Tarek Furad Hussein (Formerly Dr. Aribert Heim, and known by his alias: ‘Dr. Death’) [8]

2. Syria

Like Egypt, Under the Ba’athist rule of Syria, There too was a connection to Nazi networks who had helped to equip and arm them, aswell as help them with operations. Aswell as some being aided by Arab Nationalist and Muslim Brotherhood channels whom they were in contact with to come into Syria. [1] — One particular case about A Nazi in Syria, Concerns Alois Bruner who had died in Syria around either 2001 or 2010. He was employed by the Ba’athist regime to torture and interrogate Jews, along with many other things. [2][3][4] Notable officials in Syria are Franz Radamecher, Alois Brunner, And Walter Rauff.

3. USA and USSR

Both the US and USSR employed Former Nazis, And particularly Scientists and tech-experts from the former Nazi regime to work for their countries in the Cold War; Respectively in Operation Paperclip and Operation Osaviakhim [1][2] — One of the most infamous use of Nazis by the Americans was for V2 rockets which later developed into Space-rockets and Military-missiles. [3][4][5] Some Nazis had also helped the CIA with MK-ULTRA and had helped them with Satanic-esque Mind-control. [6][7]

I hope you all enjoy this thread. Please give me some input and anything you know regarding this subject. Thank you. — Also, your thoughts? Anything to add?

It really shows that ideology and idealism don't matter as much as some people think. It's really just about what is there to gain. A lot of these countries are non-white, but because the former nazis had a hiding place and things to gain from the government regardless if they were working and serving a non aryan people. Also to the US and USSR, the nazi threat is neutralized so no reason to not hire nazi scientists, their ideology and past actions don't matter.
Also its common to hear about nazis that escaped and where they escaped but what about other axis countries like japan?

other axis countries like japan?
I don’t know if they went there or not.

Yes and No. A lot of the regimes where they were provided with asylum had regimes that were sympathetic to them. — And I do sort of agree with what you said with the soviet and u.s. Employment stuff.
