Should I take the iPill and buy a MacBook + iPhone?

I've started to realize that I've been spending an unhealthy amount of time tinkering with my electronic devices. My PC runs Debian and my phone runs LineageOS (custom Android distribution.)
I'm planning to work for about a year before starting college, so I'll have a decent amount of money in the bank. Probably at least $10,000 USD. College is also a concern in that I don't know if I can do my IT-related stuff with a Linux machine. Macs use actual Unix and support a lot more proprietary software that's used in the industry if I had to imagine.
To sum things up, I had an epiphany where I realized that actually successful people need their computers to work (and work well.) Sick of having to tinker with shit. Any feedback would be nice

Also I'll probably just get a mid-spec MacBook Air and a base model iPhone. Nothing fancy.

just use a better distribution of Linux
No wonder you’re the Fake Angeleno, Angeleno is a MacGOD and would never say this
Anyways just purchase a refurbished M1 MacBook Air, the later processors aren’t that much of an upgrade and you can purchase one for 750 dollars
The iPhone SE is shit as it is right now but it’ll likely get an upgrade in a few months so I’d wait for that

A macbook for productivity and work is a good idea, though I see no reason to get an iPhone. I find that Android phones are better and there's such a wide range of them that it's basically impossible to find one that doesn't suit you. I will say that Apple mobile devices feel premium, but this quality is also found in flagship android models.
