People are TOO honest, and whether they lack self-control, awareness of the situation at hand, or plainly don't give a shit, it's sad that when people are given a technology that they can say anything into without any IRL repercussions, they will post the most deviant shit imaginable and create the most fucked up hypotheticals, because no one is going to stop them. It gets to a point where they and other people become desensitized, and they forget how BAD those things are.
Like how porn addicts will become so consumed with porn they begin to only think in ways that will satisfy their fetishes, they will corrupt anything that's presented in front of them because they have lost their sense of normalcy and humanity.
Even regular become so consumed with their own bubbles of reality and living like hermits without a lot of outside contact, this pattern of behavior grew exponentially during the pandemic. I think in Japan these types of individuals are referred to as hikikomoris.
It's especially depressing when they substitute friends and human connection for AI chatbots.
I hate how they've integrated politics into everything imaginable. People are so jaded and paranoid about anything, and act extremely direction-brained all the fucking time.
The internet doesn't feel as fun as it used to. It feels more like a chore to bear with or an unnecessary attachment that could be removed at any time, rather than a fun little digital world with endless possibilities.
The novelty and charm has worn off for me.
People, they now look at things from the outside looking away; rather than the outside looking in.
