The way updoots work encourages a hivemind so I never even once used reddit tbh. Comments collapsing I personally see as a bad thing. That being said it works fine if the subreddit isn't about some political shit but rather technical shit like PC support or whatever. In such cases I can see downvotes-upvotes working well for once. But in most cases it's a garbage format if you ask me.
