I am being serious on that, a matter of fact; a lot of Americans, a scary amount of them CANNOT tell you where their ancestors came from, or just presume where they came from because of some rumor their granddad or grandma told them to cover up a family secret. This is why you'll have some hicks who LARP as Native Americans because in actuality one of their many ancestors is actually black, so the family had to cover it up/make it sound "better".
