I don't wanna sound too much like an emo faggot but for me it might be a shattered mirror because le mental illness and general identity confusion. Maybe that's just because I like the lyric "They're all just pieces of a broken mirror;" I can elaborate if it's not too SNCA.

Weird one, but tree bark.
When I was a kid I was climbing a tree and picked a cool piece of bark off of it. I wanted to keep it, but I had just started climbing and wanted to go higher. I had a dilemma about whether to keep it, but decided to drop it so i could continue without worrying about holding onto it.

I pick up interests and phases all the time, and I don't want to change out of them but sometimes they impede my progress. A lot of my personality is just pieces of bark that I'll one day have to drop in search of a better piece. Which is fine usually, my values and dreams stay solid. It's just the little details, and i quite like switching them up and being a "new person"
