This is because after the bronze age expansion of the Yamnaya people from the pontic steppe (ancient tribe who's genetics make up most of European DNA), they also travelled southeast towards Central Asia, then Iran and Afghanistan, then India and Pakistan, intermixing with the native populations in those areas.
The reason why jeets vary on colour depending on whether they are from North or South India, is because the native population of India is actually the Dravidian people, which is the part of Indians which makes them brown and it is that part which has little to no continuity with white people.
Arabs, for example, can be compared to Indians with regards to proximity to European ancestry. Before the Yamnaya from area which is now called Ukraine conquered Europe, it's natives were, you guessed it, Caucasians. Or specifically a group of Caucasian hunter gatherers who left their homeland towards Europe many millenia ago and populated the continent. This is the 2nd largest DNA ancestry path associated with Europeans. However, the Caucasians who stayed in West Asia split up into what would become the native populations of Iran (to be later mixed after the Yamnaya expansion) and the Natufian culture whom emerged in the Levant and became what we now know as Arabs.
In summary, if you wanted to compare distance from white people of Arabs and Indians, you can think of white people as White chocolate, Indians as a mix of white and dark chocolate, and Arabs as milk chocolate, which is its own thing because it has milk powder mixed in, distinct from a mix of white and dark, but much closer related to the white chocolate than white is to dark. Consider that the main haplogroup of the European Caucasians is I and Arabs is J, meanwhile dravidians are H. And the closeness of the letters is what I mean
That's enough autistic obsession for today
