i installed a custom ROM on my shitty phone

had to wait 180 days to unlock the bootloader but yeah i did it
literally got up at 2AM yesterday and couldnt go back to sleep
the battery life is excellent (77% after 2.5 hours of screen time) and i dont think ill be going back to the stock OS from jewgle
have any of you retards done something similar

yeah its crazy. i think the thing that really opened my eyes was the battery life difference. the fact that the sheer amount of spying, telemetry, and resulting system resource usage is bad enough to the point where it takes hours off of the battery life is just crazy. i believe android phones with the stock OS are at least several times as bad as iPhones when it comes to that stuff. i think i've told you this before, but jewgle pixels are the only phones sold in north america that can easily be tinkered with nowadays.

Off topic but I wish America was more like the EU. They're actually forcing these companies, especially Apple, to make their devices more easily repairable and tinker-able. I guess all that lobbying in the U.S. pays off.

it's bullshit. land of the free my ass. fun fact, i think samsung only specifically disables bootloader unlocking in north american countries too (it's possible everywhere else, but you'll blow a literal fuse inside the phone if you do it)

Used to add all sorts of insane tweaks, tweaks to make YouTube not an ad-ridden shithole of a website, tweaks to let me take screenshots without people noticing on Snapchat, tweaks to add the pattern lock from Android, etc. This is what my Notification Center looked like back when I was on like iOS 13 on my 11 Pro Max. Unfortunately the jailbreaking scene has too few talented coders and too many unwell attention-whoring trannies (looking at you CoolStar) and can't keep up with Apple's constant bullshit, so I haven't jailbroken my phone in years. I don't think I will ever make my phone look as awesome as how it did back in 2020
