Rant I don't get stand-up comedy

What the title says, I don't get stand-up comedy. I bought a ticket to see some comedian yesterday, and while I was entertained (until like the last ten minutes when I was just sort of waiting for it to wrap up) I didn't laugh at a single thing that night. I think I smiled at a couple jokes but that was the furthest I got. It wasn't even like some literal-who in some bar, it was a decently famous comedian too. There was also this zesty middle-aged faggot next to me who kept fucking dying at every line and slapping his knees, kind of like this SpongeBob clip below:

Anyways, I just don't think I get stand-up comedy at all. I've tried watching bits from a few other popular comedians but I just don't get anything out of it. I can laugh at YouTube videos, movies, TV shows, but never really from stand-up. Is it because I watched it alone, or does stand-up just suck in general, IDGI

idk, I only been to a one stand up show and I cracked up at every joke purely because of the atmosphere of the place and how funny it is when someone tells some bullshit about the audience

Yeah there a lot of unfunny "dude sex lmaoooo" jokes, the main act was better with them and used them more sparingly but the opening acts used them as a crutch, it was annoying, there was this one joke about eating ass that made me want to roll my eyes so far back that I'll never see anything but my own innards for the rest of my life

To extend this further, the funniest stand-up I've seen was this one that Sam Hyde did like an eternity ago where the joke is just him shitting on the audience, and tbh I'm not even sure if it really counts as stand-up as the jokes aren't in the actual routine, it's in the recorded reaction of the seething audience
