I invite this to this peer-reviewed and approved historically by snopes, which inserts the sharty as the roman empire.
Objective
Players must do what they can to keep the empire alive. But it's not going to be easy, as there will be revolts, made up by me, or revolts that could be organized by fellow players, and barbarian invasions, and economic collapse, etc, etc.
Start here if tl:dr
Pick a color and a 'jak that will represent (you) in the game.
Choose a starting region/board, where you will start.
If someone wants to start as the emperor, you can say it.
In this round 0, you will only need to do the above.
Rules: You can only move once per turn
You can move twice if you have no legions
You can only battle one per turn.
You can do any misc action a reasonable amount of times.
The emperor
He will appoint who will be the praetorian prefect, which will boost the player's legion dice number, the emperor's legion will have the same dice number as the praetorian, in the start, which is 3d6. If the prefect loses a battle, they lose the status as prefect, and the emperor must appoint a new one, which cannot be the previous one. Others can also battle the praetorian, if they are in the same province, and if they defeat him, the emperor must choose a new one. The praetorian has a pretty big ability, which is to assasinate the emperor, if he decides to do this, the emperor jak is killed, and the player must choose a new 'jak, but his color can stay same, and goes back to being a normal general.
The emperor also has the ability to declare war at another civilization.
With much power also comes much responsibility. The emperor dies if he loses a battle against a foreign nation. Which then some general must declare himself as emperor.
Emperor assasinated
If the emperor dies, some things can happen.
A new emperor is chosen by the praetorian guard (cannot be himself btw)
The praetorian guard just kill him for the shit's and giggles, which then some other player can proclaim himself as the emperor. If more than 1 player proclaims itself as emperor, a civil war starts. Wins whoever defeats the other one in battle. Players may decide to stay neutral, or support a side in the conflict, note that the province the player chose at the beginning will join the side he sides with. Players can join forces in battle, which the leader player will now command the other player, with the following player being able to detach from the leader's force at any time.
Recruiting troops
This i have not fleshed it out much, but i think a good base mechanic for this would be: if you stay in your home province for 2 turns, without moving, you replenish your legion, which was depleted in a battle.
Battle
Normal player: 2d6
Emperor and praetorian 3d6
If player A in same province as Player B he can attack him. Player A rolls a dice and posts his result here Player B rolls after him. It would be nice if this site had a dice rolling feature. Player with the biggest result wins, and loser loses his army.
If multiple players, multiple dices respective to the players must be rolled.
Conquering
If you move to a province and stay there for 1 turn without opposition, you occupy it.
Suggestions or questions you can send here, or contact me in the schlog, plier.
Events
They happen and the emperor, or if the emperor isn't available someone else must choose what to do.
Questions, suggestions, etc.. ask me here, or in the /soy/ thread. Map with taken provinces can be found in the thread ------->>>>>> https://soyjak.party/soy/thread/7604050.html
