Frutiger Nathaniel VII

had a conversation on IRC about this a while ago. Its mostly young people trying to mirror what they thought the world was like when they were a kid. For the people who aren't kids doing it, its basically age regressing

A generation that most likely also wouldn't have actually grown up with said era of the internet or would've had a very blurry idea/concept of what it was when it was still a thing, also how fucking pathetic is that, imagine being so tied to the internetsphere and online digital culture that you become nostalgic for an earlier time for internet aesthetics rather than the actual irl world around you from that time period whether it be 2008 or 1998 or whenever the fuck.
>woaw my frutiger aero/metro/pedro/etc
>woaw my heckin' 2000s glossy app icons
>woaw my frickin' dial up internet

It's a faux idea filtered through rose tinted glasses of how things really were perpetrated by a nostalgia they know nothing about, them being nostalgic over this would really be the same if they were nostalgic for the 1980s or the 1960s
Also why can't they come up with their own thing instead of doing something that already happened close to 20 years ago if not over 20 years ago depending on what thing we're talking about specifically.
Transgenderism.

scroll through this. This is what the current scene "kids" look like.

holy shit i just had whiplash this looks like my middle school technology teacher if he was 10 years younger and was emo and did crack

>age regressing to a time before you thought about being transgender
>coincidentally say this was the last time you were happy
maybe they made a permanant decision they are internally regretting. wonder what it is

most people into this werent even born or were toddlers when this style was """"""""""popular""""""""""

I don't feel entirely comfortable posting this because it feels pornographic and the whole thread was gooning over her, but here's a thread I recall from like a month ago on /mu/, even people are dressing up LARPing as that previous era, the person in picrel would've been born in 2004, so a year after Myspace and 4chan started.

The second image is from some millenial foid, not a zoomer one I believe.

Also it's because they feel outcasted from the modern internet because they aren't popular e-whores or big people on social media. Meanwhile on da old intarwebz there weren't any influencers.
