I prefer to stay here, I have faith that we still have the opportunity to build ourselves up as an active soysite, albeit slower, whereas they don't have the cards.
The shroom to me was doomed from the start, due to much less legacy, name recognition, and not having had links there across the soysphere before. Plus, their admins and many of their users are clitty leakers, which you can't afford to be as a soyjak site. Smallanus was very leaky and had a short temper over here, only confirmed by the purging of all of his messages (Jackson pls restore), and from my time in their steam group before they got rid of it, they had several other leaky users like Steve and Jimbo over there.
YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO BE MAJORITY CLITTY ON A SITE ABOUT MOCKING THE LEAKERS OF THE WORLD, YOU CAN'T DO IT! As much as places like rDrama and Kiwi are obsessed leakers, they usually have outward sources to release their fury towards, which the shroom doesn't have, and actually for the most part we didn't have that either. That's why we fell into drama which ultimately caused Froot to crash out hard. We also have many of the unbothered still around here, the real stoics, the kind of guys that either take personally offensive things in good humor or put their heads down to make gems like Rot. Yeah he's on the shroom, but so are many more leakers. Same with Kiwi, they got their guys looking for lolcow material to post but they don't get roped into the tranny internal site drama. Same with Sharty, we've had our gem forgers since David Thoughie. We've kept the unbothered within our userbase and within the jannies, so we'll be fine on that front.
If we were to focus on making our gems the same as it always was, and we share them around, we should still have the chance to rebuild ourselves and allievate our desire for conflict. Can they do that? Where would they put it? We still have our link on SPVA, soyteens still know what a "schlog" is, their namefags know who our namefags are, and the shroom doesn't have any of that. In fact, they can't. They're lumped in with us and the Shiwi in the minds of the average soyteen, xenforo forums with namefag drama, or perhaps with the likes of the swinny, as not necessarily an evil site, but still a splinter site. They might make a gem or two, sure, but oldsoicacas are probably just gonna groan about yet ANOTHER soy site to add to the pile and nusoicacas will call them 'cord and seethe. And if they were to target us? Get our links scrubbed, get us labelled hostile offsite? Nothing to stop our domino from falling on them. I'm sure we'd be able to find out what they're doing and also get them labeled hostile in return. In fact, we're probably the one site, second to the shroom themselves, with the most mentions of them, so to get rid of us would be to bite the hand that (unintentionally) feeds them. They ruin us, they stunt their growth or worse. On the other hand, if we grow, they'll probably grow as well, though not as much.
All in all, the Shroom doesn't appeal to me in terms of longevity. I don't hate the guys there obviously, I love them, that's why I was around them on this site for a year. But I don't think they have what it takes to sustain their forum or a stable site culture. I had to blogpost about this, because that is what this site was founded for and I'd rather use the schlog for this very purpose.

honestly agree. just leave jimbo and teresa in der slummas and grow the schlog (somehow...). i agree too that eventually this splintercuck drama is gonna end at some point and the blogs will come back

@telnet you should collaborate with /dem/ maybe for some soycredit to grow this place more and make this place bigger.
