So in this game you got to connect the dots between musicians and other musicians and see how far you can branch out. Like starting with Mac Miller and ending with Burt Bacharach, or starting with the supergroup Asia (John Wetton, Carl Palmer, Geoff Downes, Steve Howe) and ending with the bassist Thundercat.

Easy Mode: Producers count. As long as they produce or co-produce the album then you can list them even if they don't directly play on a particular track of a given album.
Hard Mode: They have to directly play or sing on a track by another artist, even if it's just as a session musician or guest appearance for one song on an album.

Example: Emerson Lake & Palmer > Greg Lake > King Crimson > Robert Fripp > David Bowie > Trent Reznor > Danny Elfman > Elliott Smith > Jon Brion > Badly Drawn Boy > Unkle > Thom Yorke > Atoms for Peace > Flea > Alanis Morissette

Example: Emerson Lake & Palmer > Greg Lake > King Crimson > Robert Fripp > David Bowie > Trent Reznor > Danny Elfman > Elliott Smith > Jon Brion > Badly Drawn Boy > Unkle > Thom Yorke > Atoms for Peace > Nigel Godrich > Beck > Thomas Fec > Black Moth Super Rainbow

Example: Emerson Lake & Palmer > Greg Lake > King Crimson > Robert Fripp > Blondie > Frank Infante > Joan Jett > Alice Cooper > The Black Keys > Patrick Carney > Goon

Have fun.

Stan Getz and JoĂŁo Gilberto > AntĂ´nio Carlos Jobim > Frank Sinatra > Nancy Sinatra > Jarvis Cocker > Hot Chip > Robert Wyatt > Soft Machine > Kevin Ayers > John Cale > The Velvet Underground > Lou Reed > Gorillaz > Dennis Hopper

You know, this one has no clear direction. I just thought it was funny.
