Is it just me or do I see a lot of comics, most commonly superhero stuff, that are obsessed with drawing as much gore as possible? Think invincible, (that may be one of the better comics to crawl out of this extremely melanated genre) happy tree friends, the boys. Those are some of the popular ones but a lot of comics, especially indie ones are obsessed with gore as well. One of the archetypes I hate the most is "cute innocent thing... BUT ALL THE CUTE INNOCENT CHARACTERS GET MURDERED AND DISEMBOWELD ALIVE ON SCREEN AND TORTURED YEAH BRO I'M NOT WIERD AT ALL BRO!!!" archetype. I hate this stuff but by it's nature its hard to look away from, which is why it gets so much attention on the internet.
If my explanation was intelligable at all, what do you think about this trend of animation/comics? Does it wierd you out? I feel like there is something suspicious about being a megafan of this kind of stuff. Kind of like how you would be right to be suspicious with an otaku.
