Discuss the best video game series of all time ITT.

The Soviet campaign in CoD 1 was easily the most revolutionary WW2 campaign ever made until that point

what kind of atmosphere do you prefer, cod 1 and 2 or waw? i prefer waw since war was brutal and the battle of berlin was just the soviets slaughtering the exhausted germans, which the game reflects well
Cod 1 and 2 feel much more heroic and align more with old-time war movies, whilst WaW reflects more of a "Saving Private Ryan" tone, much darker than expected out of a genre like it. I prefer WaW all day but I still love Cod 1 and 2

I liked the attention they gave to the Japs, too. There's a cool detail when you're besieging Okinawa in the last Pacific mission where some of the corpses of Japanese fighters are wearing glasses if you look at them closely, indicating that the military was getting desperate and had started drafting intellectuals and scholars into the infantry forces.

was about to complain about it not being on ZOGbox but my pc should be able to run it since it's over 20 years old, silly me

I think CoD 1 would be better if it was a bit more accurate. There were a lot of crucial small-arms and vehicles missing from the first game (Small detail but small details are the most important in immersion)
Gewehr 43
SVT-40
Webley MK VI
Tokarev TT-33
etc.

There was also a detail where some enemies that were being burned would yell "Api" (which means fire in Indonesian), because Japan had forcefully conscripted young men from Occupied Indonesia to fight in the war

Something I really hated about Cod 1 is the dam mission. It's awful, especially on veteran. I never played the game before so I experienced everything for the first time on the hardest difficulty that doesn't even give you health packs
Dam mission is fun for the first time (if you're playing on a reasonable difficulty), then it becomes a slog when you need to replay it. I think it's the only mission that gives you the Sten as well which is a shame since it's a cool weapon (despite being indistiguishable from the MP40)

United Offensive should've had Italians in the Sicily mission. I don't know why they skimped out on them considering they had already changed so much with the weapons

is this game series popular? I see it a lot on the internet but also I dont know anyone who played this

I never finished cod 2 either
:cobshock:
Just kidding you weren't missing out on anything. The last mission is boring and all you do in the end is fight against two Tigers and the game's over. Did you at least finish Battle at Hill 400? That's the best level in the entire campaign.

Normie slop vidya, buy the same game again goy.
Pokemon is the same thing btw, all Game Freak does nowadays is release the same game twice with no adjustments and you still gobble it up with no remorse
New CoD sucks, we're talking about old CoD

That level with the silos ruined any enjoyment left for the game
The silos are so fucking annoying it's unreal. Justifiable. Also Captain Price and Pvt. MacGregor sound silly so it starts to become grating after they say "POTATO MASHER! WATCH OUT!" for the 499th time

i only play zombies, the last cod game i played and liked was cold war, the campaign was really cool cus of the cold war aesthetic
