Ladies and gentlemen, fellow posters, and those who still hold out hope for what was once a legendary corner of the internet,
Today, I want to talk about something that has been on all of our minds for a long time: the slow, painful degradation of Soyjak Party. This site—once a place of creativity, humor, and genuine community—has become something unrecognizable. The spirit that once defined us is fading, and we need to acknowledge why.
First, let’s talk about the art, the gems, the creativity. There was a time when this place was a goldmine of fresh OC, when people actually cared about making something funny or clever. We used to celebrate original content—images, edits, posts that had effort behind them. But now? The gems are gone. Instead of creating, people repost the same stale garbage or spam low-effort nonsense. The drive to outdo each other with wit and innovation has been replaced by laziness and cynicism.
But maybe worse than that is the way we treat each other. It’s no secret that this site was never a hugbox, and it shouldn’t be. But there's a difference between playful banter and mindless cruelty. What used to be a place for clever insults and mutual understanding has turned into a cesspit of people tearing each other down for no reason. The threads are filled with nothing but hostility, people attacking each other instead of engaging in anything meaningful. It’s exhausting, and it’s killing the community.
And then there’s the harassment problem. In the past, we laughed at the absurdity of the internet, at the weirdness of culture, at ourselves. Now, too many people have taken it upon themselves to turn that mockery outward, targeting people who don’t deserve it—random nobodies, small creators, innocent bystanders who just happened to be caught in the crossfire. This isn’t “trolling” anymore. It’s just being cruel for the sake of it. And what does it accomplish? Nothing. It doesn’t make the site better. It doesn’t make anyone laugh. It just makes the place feel miserable.
So, I ask you: what are we doing? What is Soyjak Party even for anymore? If we don’t create, if we don’t have fun, if we just spread misery, then what’s the point?
The truth is, this site can’t go back to the way it was unless the people using it decide to change. We need to bring back creativity. We need to stop the mindless, pointless aggression against each other. And we need to recognize that harassing people outside the site isn’t “owning” anyone—it’s just embarrassing.
If we want to keep this place from completely crumbling, we have to take a step back and ask: Do we want to be a site that produces something worthwhile? Or do we just want to rot?
It’s not too late to turn things around. But it won’t happen unless we make it happen.
Thank you.
