Best Pokémon Generation?

Personally I'd say gen 4 or 5, but that's admittedly mostly due to nostalgia and I haven't played anything post gen 6.

Depends. Best gen in gameplay? I really liked Gold and I liked Platinum, so gen 2 and gen 4. Best for arbitrary personal reasons? Gen 6 because most of my favorite Pokémon are Kalos 'mons. Believe it or not, my favorite isn't even Chesnaught or pic rel, it's Floatzel (In spite of the horrible fanbase Buizel and to a slightly lesser extent Floatzel has), which is another point towards gen 4. I'm also quite fond of gen 8 slop because it gave new forms to some of my other favorites like Samurott and Typhlosion, though Sobble's evos really left a bad impression on me, and Sword was way too damn easy because the gyms were laughable and the camps made grinding friendship incredibly easy.


PLZA to end off the mess that has been gen 9 is handcrafted slop made specifically to drain 60 dollars or possibly more out of my wallet. I did think Iron Valiant was cool though, if I had to list one good thing about Scarlet and Violet.
