I usually start of with lukewarm, leaning on cold water and after I finish shampooing my hair, I go to hot water.

>shampoo
Call me a smelly fucker or whatever but it's unnecessary.
Shampoo was created for Women to remove powders and gels from their hair but in the modern day it's just a solution to a non-existent problem.
Just get a thin comb and brush your hair heavily while blasting it with water for about 5 minutes in the shower, human hair has natural oils built-in that are made to level out and maintain themselves, so any and all "greasiness" to any given persons hair will go away after around a week once the body realizes it doesn't have to pump out a heavy amount of the oils anymore to keep up with the equally heavy mass-erasure via the Shampoo.
There has also been multiple studies done linking certain chemicals, particularity those found in shampoos such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate to lower levels of Hormones due to them affecting the Endocrine System.

When it was really really hot in june this year I used to take cold showers just to cool down
Then I deployed a garden pool and it's just better for that use case
This year we've got some AC installed in our house so that's cool (literally hahaha lol)

I rarely take a warm shower. It's essentially just average temp "luke" warm water.
Living in Central America essentially 90% of the year it's quite hot.. so after working outside I either hop in the ocean or take a coldish shower.. yes it's fantastic for your body.

I have a theory about warm showers in the morning and cold showers in the evening a few hours before bed. Although hot showers aren't really good for you, a hot bath is. I think both are useful for different things..
