The genre is bigger than ever actually. Its just our soysphere has failed to capitalize on it, i'm looking into turning it around, I just dont know if its possible to get new people to stay on the sharty when alot of the good posters fled here.
All the meaningful people dig their trench here. Can't get new meaningful people if nothing to keep them with. Without schlog users to come gem things back up it would basically be starting by scratch.
I guess, I'm hopeful that the site can really be turned around and get to past popularity, but when basically half its users schismed into this site, its hard to pretend.
Everyone in the thread complaining about the state of the sharty, its like that because everyone fucked off to here, it could be a great site capable of sustaining itself due to its name if people cared to use it instead of here, which is basically the aame site. Schlog doesn't have the same...
Do you see the problems with growing past the sharty to the point it is dead and abandoned? Theres dozen prople in this thread that state how the sharty is dead to them, fine with it kicking the bucket, but nobody seems to get that after that, the schlog will basically become stagnant and loose...
The sharty could last a 1000 years if everyone wasnt a defeatist that thinks becoming a closed community on the schlog that will eventually lose all its members was fine.
Just enough to the point where the schlog isn't overtaking the sharty to the point where everyone matters in the soysphere agrees we should just let the sharty cease to be in favor of gooning here.
Soyjak.Blog has been the most damaging splinter to soyjak.party.
Seriously though, AE basically was where we are now and lost decades of work on their wiki in favor of cucking out and becoming a ghost town on their forum or whatever. Its the track we are on.
The thing is, we shouldn't abandon the sharty, it's what we're all doing.
Its home, its what should be our jewel.
Instead we're following the path of Enclyopedia dramatica, lose domains and the entire gimmick of their site, the wiki, and now its just 10-20 oldfags on a forum. Its a future I see...
A more realistic solution, the issue is, basically everything you can do on the blog that is argued "unique" to it, you can do on boards that are not /soy/ or /qa/ on sharty, which kind of leeches from the soysphere's rome PPH.
The booru is nearly its own culture and serves a purpose the imageboard can't. Soyjak.blog is made up of quality users who decided they were too good for the sharty one day.
Sharty needs an economy of conquest...

But I think for a revitalization of the sharty, merging it with the blog userbase would be the ball that would actually get things rolling, and be VERY sustainable in the long run.
