Smeargle and Sableye too, I could just post a whole list but I'm being enough of an autist already. At least it's within the confines of my own page it_hurts

Typhosion was my first starter (Soul Silver). Still holds a place in my heart even if it's not that good. Cinderace is fine if not good. It's just neither that cool or iconic to me... "Floatzel and Helioptile/Heliolisk" Agreed, underrated. I love the first 4 regis and what they did to the big man himself with slow start pisses me off. (1/4)

Volbeat/Illumise always came off as mid filler bugs, but for filler they have their charm. The Sneasel family is just cool, and no one can deny that. I like how many none pseudolegends/legendary dragons just look like they still could be and Noibat/Noiverndo not disappoint in that field. (2/4)

Just to get the mons I like that aren't unique picks out of the way, Lucario, Darkria, Lugia, Raquaza, Groudon, Hydragon, Metagross and Tyranitar. (3/4)

As for actual unique picks... I always liked ampharos, cool line. Kingdra is cool. I would list the regis if you didn't. I love shuckles. Bisharp is keyed but its evolution is meh even if its OP. Raikou and the rest of its trio was always very cool to me. Dusknoir is cool. And the last one off the top of my head that I'd say is one of my favorites is Toxicroak. Super underrated for how cool it looked. (4/4)

Smeargle always seemed cool to me in the same way shednija did. It's a cool gimmick mon thats hard to find (depending on the gen) and fun to use. And Sableye and Spirittomb are cool as use no weakness mons

All great picks. My first game was Pokémon Gold, so I understand the first bit too.
I forgot to mention Nidorina, but I also like those quite a bit. I'm not a huge fan of Nidoqueen, especially the shiny version which has very odd coloring, but I think the colors on Nidorina are nice and I prefer the smoother look compared to Nidorino.

More I'd mention are Staryu, Starmie, and Raichu, the last of which I've come to appreciate more lately.

The nidos are cool, and it's always fun how they end up in OU from time to time. Starmie and Raichu are good classic gen 1 picks. It feels like all gen 1 pokemon are cheating. Maybe the were all just that good but I think the well is poisoned by nostalgia.

I want to say all of the final cross evolution mons we got in gen 4 were great. Dusknoir Mamoswine, Weavil, Gliscor, Yanmega, Magmortar, Eletrivior, Tangrowth and even Ryperior. There is 0 chance I spelled those right ALBEIT

I find it hard to find too many mons between 6 and 9 that I like. There are good ones, but I'm for sure a new gen hater.

Ceruledge, some of the ultra beast, and Tyrantrum are cool, but they feel like some of the obligatory "designed to be cool" mons
Chesnaught
I don't like that many from gen 7-9, but I like a lot of the gen 6 ones, and I still like the feel of gen 8, even if a lot of the 'mons disappoint me. I do think 7 had some cool ones though. I like Solgaleo and I like Raichu's Alolan form, but I can't think of anything else that's super notable to me personally from gen 7. I get what you're saying though.

I enjoyed PLA and I'm cautiously hopeful that PLZA will have some of the things I liked from PLA. Alphas would be cool, though I'm not super confident it'll happen. I'd just like to be able to transfer my big Floatzel from PLA in. (1/2)

He was my lead Pokémon for basically the whole game from the moment I caught him, so I'm quite fond of him, that might be a bit weird, but it's my biggest reason. I really liked the ability to just have all my Pokémon out at the same time. (2/2)

PLA was cool, but it feels like something that would have been exciting when GTA V came out. It just feels like it is a decade outdated. The games are buggy, the graphics are unimpressive, and they don't bring all that much new content and just piggyback off of existing concepts. I'm not trying to be a nihilist, but game freak owns pokemon. (1/3)

The most lucrative IP in human history. They have Nintendo, the biggest game company in history pumping money into it if it needs to... Yet pokemon games feel like the furthest thing from triple A games as you possibly could. Indie games and fan pokemon games shit on pokemon. And its really all because soyboys unquestioningly consume product. (2/3)

We will never get a game as smooth as the gen 2 remakes or games as innovative as the gen 5 games. Instead, we are going to get the same spaghetti code asset flopped soulless 3D messes. I'm sorry to go on a tangent but there is just no passion. It's not art, it a product. (3/3)

Honestly, I haven't bought a Pokémon game since Alpha sapphire when I was a kid and before that it was Black.

Fair. I guess I just don't expect that much from Game Freak to begin with. Going into PLA, all I heard was everyone was saying how much it sucked, but I had fun playing it, so at the end of the day, I'm happy. It's not impressive, not by today's standards, I get that, but I never wanted/expected it to be. (1/2)
