It really depends. On the internet, I don't care because internet raisin is meaningless. But if a real-life person who knew me personally started some feud, arguments and gossiping, I would care a lot. You always need to improve as a person, sometimes you are not aware of a problem you have, people bring up the problem in a respectful constructive way, or disrespectfully with the intent of hate, but regardless you should listen and try to understand why this person doesn't like you and what you did wrong. In insults and arguments, there is always a true critique of your character masked behind insults and hate. So caring means you want to improve and be a better person, I think
 
I don't care what people think. Being hated by someone means I'm living rent free in someone's head and I successfully trolled them to the point of obsession. It's inevitable someone will hate you, so why give a shit when it's not worth the effort? In fact if I say or do something that upsets someone I usually take that as I sign I'm doing something correct. Most of what I do is shit posting anyway, so if someone gets mad it's funny to me.
