Why should (You) be a Christian?

Stubborn atheists won't convert even if you preach about the greatness of God. So I will look from their perspective.
Even IF Christ and the greatness of God were not real, and it was all a "Jewish lie". No matter how old the religion of Christianity is. It is a great motivator, a moral compass and a way of life. If you feel down and you feel unmotivated Christianity helps with a sense of meaning and power that science or the tree god cant give you. Think about how unjust and cold this world is, Christianity promises justice. Think about how meaningless this world is from a purely scientific perspective. A meaningless struggle for energy/life on a minuscule rock that floats in a bigger more meaningless world. But Christianity gives a reason for life and a way to live. The moral code of Christianity stands greatly today and still applies. Is against troonery/faggotry that is plaguing our current world, is against excessive materialism, lust and greed which are all things plaguing this world, and is against barbaric violence and hate that some other religions/beliefs have. And Christianity offers a great community, a kind and very giving community because those virtues are encouraged.
Even IF it was all fake, and after death, nothing happens. You get to live and die with a sense of meaning, having lived a righteous life, not being consumed by moral degeneracy and a sense of meaninglessness that le heccin peer-reviewed Darwin-backed scientific method or the tree god that just can't help.

Many other religions and beliefs exist and you could get a false sense of purpose and righteousness. But there is a reason why Christianity has been the most powerful, most popular religion of humanity because it is truly divine, it separates itself from all the other faiths as the one true religion. The most civilized and greatest empires all have been Christian. Christianity survived the persecution and the attack of the biggest empire during its early time and won, managing to convert the attacking empire to Christianity. And I personally feel like other beliefs are bad in some way like Buddhism wants men to be ambitionless, childrenless sitters because everything is meaningless or something. Paganism/Shamanism is too violent, barbaric and uncivilized, there is a reason why the pagan Germanic tribes converted to Christianity, the pagan Mongols and central asians converted to Abrahamic religions or Buddhism. You could point out any specific belief or religion and that belief/religion will be inferior to Christianity in some way.

and why do you think this?
I always gravitate towards the truth, had Islam or Judaism been true I would have gravitated towards them. This rings true in my life, the more intelligent I become the stronger my faith becomes.

define 'false sense of purpose and righteousness.'

historically, christianity was spread by force and persecution. forced conversions were prominent in colonial africa and the americas. if people did not follow the christian faith, they were either enslaved like native americans during european colonization, killed like the non-believers in jerusalem under christian rule, or persecuted like the inquisition and salem witch trials.

if we go by your logic, sikhism would be superior.

Brimburner didn't do any of that DOE

If Christianity is the one true religion, why should we believe you?
i don't personally care much about religion but i was baptized into the catholic church as a baby and i still identify as a christian because it gives me an excuse to be homophobic because i just hate lgbts especially lesbians because i'm a hateful sad incel.

but you can still be homophobic without being religious

Correct but this is not bad, savage pagan cults or wrong beliefs must be corrected. Christianity and world history are not a completely innocent flower field but rather a brutal struggle to spread Christianity. Europe conquered most of the world and now the world knows about Christianity, but in the modern day, many still reject him, so in the modern day Christianity spreads through peaceful discussion and missionaries. But I admit historically some "Christian" people or organizations that did not really understand the religion but used its name for evil and wrong exist. Like Christianity being used to justify slavery or genocide, even clitler and the nazis called themselves "Christian" to fool the public.

Not sure what you mean by that. If you could elaborate please do. But I'll say Christ blessed the lands that followed him. Europe used to be a backwater inhabited by pagan savages in forests and swamps, Europe was an unknown barbarian land compared to China and South Asia during that time. But since Europe has followed Christ and prayed, they have established the biggest, most powerful empires in human history. Achieving the greatest development in human history and even establishing their colonies which have surpassed them on a giant continent. But if the Sikhist god was real, why has he not blessed his followers with great development, and great empires and made his followers spread his religion outside of South Asia?

@BrimBurner (not going to quote all those words) TRVTHNUKE but I disagree that Great empires are a blessing to Christians from God, I feel power and prosperity are merely a byproduct of being Christian. A society the treats it's own with justice and morality will naturally prosper. In a way prosperity can be a negative side effect (promotes materialism) albeit poor and downtrodden people can be materialistic too.

i do not understand. how does having a false sense of purpose and righteousness correlate to not believing in christianity?

why should they be corrected by force? doesn't christianity prohibit forced conversions?

if we were to judge christianity by its merits, it will still fail in comparison to sikhism due to the tolerance of slavery, which sikhism condemns.

sikhism, like judaism, also doesn't actively seek nor encourage conversions, although it does welcome anyone who converts to the faith out of their own free will.

pre-christian europe, asia, north africa and the orient during the islamic golden age had developments in arts, architecture, mathematics, philosophy, science, etc. and the latter three had in some cases surpassed christian europe.

if christianity made europe greater, why isn't this the case for places like latin america, philippines, sub-saharan africa, eastern europe, and among other places?

did you forget the greeks and the romans?
Romans are why I don't measure a culture by it's power or prosperity. They ruled the world for 500 years and had all the wealth they could ask for but at the end of the day, they were violent savages, homosexuals, sometimes pedophiles and all around hedonistic pagans. What good is gaining all the world if you lose your soul? I'd rather live with a dirt poor Christian family in El Salvador than live with a prosperous unbeliever family in Norway.

still doesn't disprove that pre-christian europe made technological advancements.
