I used to engage with the diary of a wimpy kid community a lot, but it seems they all make Greg out to be a sociopath (which can be funny sometimes like in the fan fiction about him being in a school shooting where he uses Rowley as a human shield) but they also make characters act out way differently than they would in the main series (especially that one with the tumblr-ish art style where they make out Greg’s dad to be some sort of abuser).

Greg’s dad isn’t even an abuser, he’s just a normal dad who just wants his kids to enjoy the stuff he did when he was a kid. The idea of him hitting Roderick also bothered me since him and Roderick are on decent terms since Roderick does the bare minimum to stay on good terms with him.
