Project Pinkamena Diane Pie Costume

i’m going to a costume contest for $1000 this weekend, and as im nearing the end of making my costume i’ll post my progress so far since i’m quite proud of how it’s coming out!

original rough draft

first step
i had this old 4 layer dress that had been ruined with bleach years ago. i started by pinning up the bottom 2 layers to make it shorter & more poofy. (these balloons sucked and were replaced later)

THE APRON!
the apron is arguably the money maker of the costume- the idea was for it to look like cutiemarks sewn together

apron was a bit long so i sewed it up to be the desired length

made a list of cutiemarks i wanted to incorporate in (ended up using all but trixie)

i used a projector to draw the cutiemarks with pencil, and painted for a couple days.

painting done!

brought it to my uncle (artist) to make it look sewn up aaannnd

Wings
used a projector to trace these base wings on 2 pieces of cardboard

cut them out, painted them, and glued them together

rainbow dash (blue)
fluttershy (yellow)
twilight sparkle (purple)
derpy hooves (gray)

i will probably add more blood, and i still havent figured out how exactly im going to attach them lol.
