Merge "addons" folder from the metamod archive with the one in the "/Left 4 dead 2/left4dead2/" directory

Generate a VDF here, set "Game:" as "Left 4 Dead 2" and leave "Game Folder:" empty https://www.metamodsource.net/vdf
Delete "metamod.vdf" and "metamod_x64.vdf" files from the "/Left 4 dead 2/left4dead2/addons/" folder
Put your generated VDF file into the "/Left 4 dead 2/left4dead2/addons/" folder
Open the "/Left 4 dead 2/left4dead2/addons/sourcemod/configs/admins_simple.ini" file
Find your steam id by putting a link to your steam profile here: https://steamdb.info/calculator/ (or any other indian steam id finder)
Copy the steam id, paste it at the end of the file, add a space or tab and write "99:z"
You can also comment your name with a double slash
It will look like this:
Right click Left 4 Dead 2 on steam, go to properties
Add "-insecure" into launch options
Download l4dtoolz from here: https://github.com/Accelerator74/l4dtoolz/releases (pajeetnux version of course. also make sure you get the l4d2 version, not l4d)
Merge "addons" folder with the one in the "/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/" directory
EDIT: Turns out, l4dtoolz is causing crashes on linux. Works fine on windows.
Thankfully, there's an updated version of l4dtoolz as a plugin instead of an extension (doesn't need a .dll or .so)

Make sure you are hosting a local server.
Only the host needs to do this.
If you are a windowsCHAD, repeat the same steps except download versions for windows, not leetnux

This can sometimes be buggy, if you have issues you may want to replace abm with left12dead. Left12dead is 14 years old without updates, so I avoided it. https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=126857
Add "l4d_survivor_limit 8" into "\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\cfg\listenserver.cfg" if you are using left12dead.

To disable sourcemod, to join a VAC server for example, just remove "-insecure" from the launch properties.

Alternatively, you can download an already set-up build from this addon: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1488979533 (check the description)
It's only for winGODS though and uses different mods
EDIT: Even if you're using the versions from the edits, it's still gonna crash on shitnux. Why? Because left 4 dhooks, a required mod, crashes on leetnux FOR NO RAISIN.
